SESSIONS ACCOMMODATE UP TO SIX PARTICIPANTS, ARE CONDUCTED VIA ZOOM, AND CAN BE COUNTED TOWARDS AUSTRALIAN ANNUAL CPD HOURS.

Advanced Group Supervision

These sessions are for clinicians from all therapeutic backgrounds who work with complex and dissociative clients. Through thorough case conceptualisation, we explore how developmental and attachment trauma shaped clients’ symptomatic presentations, dysregulated nervous systems, and fragmented personality structures (i.e., parts of their sense of self).

The focus of these sessions is to support your therapeutic skills and supervision needs. No prior EMDR training is required to participate. You’ll have the opportunity to deepen and expand your approach to part work by exploring and integrating the different aspects of clients’ personalities. I aim to meet you where you are in your professional journey, offering innovative strategies for working with personality parts. My case conceptualisation and treatment planning are guided by the following approaches and modalities:

• The Theory of Structural Dissociation of the Personality: To understand the impact of childhood trauma on the fragmentation of the self and the personality structure.
• The Polyvagal Theory: To explore how trauma affects the nervous system, survival mechanisms during traumatic events, and their ongoing biopsychosocial influence in the present.
• Somatic Strategies: To help ground the nervous system when triggered outside its window of tolerance.
• Ego State Therapy: To work with the different parts of the personality and their trauma biased perspectives on the self, others, and the world.
• Schema Therapy & Imagery Techniques: To explore and understand clients’ experience of their parts through the mind’s eye. Imagery is combined with EMDR’s bilateral stimulation to soften stuck parts and shift rigid internal experiences.
• EMDR (standard protocol and modified procedures): To process traumatic memories that affect clients’ perceptions, emotions, body sensations, behaviours, and reactions to current situations.
• The Progressive Approach to EMDR: To combine part work with the bilateral stimulation of EMDR, and enhance information processing across the different parts of the personality, reduce dissociative phobia, foster collaboration between parts, and prepare the system for the standard EMDR protocol.
